Yankee Great Enters Hall of Fame

NY Yankees superstar Derek Jeter was announced as the newest member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame Tuesday. He will be joined by Larry Walker, one of the greatest right fielders in baseball history. 

Appearing on 76.6 percent of the ballots from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, this was Walker’s last year of eligibility. Walker is a five-time All-Star and seven-time Golden Glove winner. 

With 396 votes Yankees, all-time great Derek Jeter was one vote away from a unanimous selection on his first year on the ballot. Jeter is a five-time World Series champion and with 3,465 hits the sixth all-time hitters in baseball.
